Adam T Welfare and Malcolm Scott gave Stan Beckensall details of this rock. On a ridge with wide views to the Cheviots and the south these four marked boulders (Alwinton/Newton/Clennell Cottages 1-4) have been disturbed by field clearance, so it impossible to say what their original context was.

Art description:

A boulder with complex motifs. It is very ‘busy' with straight and curved grooves linking up with each other and with cups.
